Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) was established in 2015 as a State university in Alanya.  ALKU aims to provide qualified higher education in an international learning environment.  With its eight faculties (Business, Engineering, Medicine, Education, Tourism, Sport Sciences, Health Sciences, Dentistry), three graduate schools (Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences) and five vocational schools, the university offers variety of associate degree, undergraduate and graduate programs.

With approximately 8,000 students, the university has been growing rapidly since its establishment; this year two new undergraduate programs in English (Food Engineering & English Language Education) will start and several other programs are to be opened soon. Location

Located 135 km east of Antalya province center in the Mediterranean region in Turkey, Alanya is a major tourism destination with several natural, historical and cultural attractions. ALKU is the first State university in Turkey that is located in a city other than the province center, which shows the importance of Alanya and its potentials.

Transportation to Alanya is easy by international and domestic flights. It takes about 40 minutes by bus from Alanya to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport and about 2 hours to Antalya International Airport. There are also buses arriving to Alanya bus terminal from all of the major cities of Turkey. Transportation to ALKU campus is available by city buses (numbers 101 & 202) within Alanya.

Education

Both normal education and evening education programs are available in most of the faculties. As mentioned above two new undergraduate programs in English will start his year. In the meantime, when required all faculties can teach in English as well. Students have an optional English preparatory year in Faculty of Business. Additionally, German, Russian and

 Arabic languages are taught throughout several programs. Students also have many academic options like double major or minor degrees, summer schools, and transfers to other higher education institutions in Turkey. There are also Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi programs for students and academicians exchange within Turkey and with universities abroad.

Student Life

Based in a paradise-like holiday region, ALKU attaches much importance to the social and cultural life of its students. Some of the social and cultural activities include the Spring Festival, student clubs, environmental and technical trips, training seminars, conferences, concerts, exhibitions, job fairs, entrepreneurship contests, sport activities, etc.

Accommodation opportunities for students include State dormitories, student-friendly accommodation facilities and many apart-hotels.

Internationalization

Representing international city of Alanya, ALKU gives the highest importance to an appropriate internationalization strategy. A central part of this strategy is based on our international students who come from every part of the world to study here. Currently ALKU has around 130 international students from 40 different countries and we expect a rapid increase in this number in near future.
