
Hülya Yanık, who has been a shopkeeper in Alanya for a long time, said that she wanted to contribute to the world of medicine and science and donated her body to Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) Faculty of Medicine as a cadaver.
ALKU continues to improve the quality of education with the support of donors and benefactors while developing new projects to provide better education to its students. Hülya Yanık, who has been a shopkeeper in Alanya for a long time, donated her body to ALKU Faculty of Medicine as a cadaver, saying that she wanted to contribute to the world of medicine. After the preparation of legal documents for the fulfillment of her will, ALKU Faculty of Medicine Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Jale Selli and Head of Anatomy Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan signed mutual signatures.
DONOR YANIK: "THE MOST VALUABLE GIFT"
Donor Hülya Yanık gave important messages to humanity after donating her body as a cadaver. Underlining that cadaver donations should increase in order for the medical world to develop more, Yanık said that she decided to donate her body as a cadaver in order to contribute more to the world of medicine after seeing that some of the people she loved in her life suffered due to health problems. She continued her speech by saying, “The most valuable gift that a deceased person can give to the living, which has no material criteria, is to dedicate his body to the development of health and science. I wish these thoughts and my decision to be an example for all humanity. I worked as a shopkeeper in Alanya for years and I developed a great bond of love with this place. Even after my passing, I wanted to contribute to Alanya, which led me to make this decision. Our esteemed professor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan explained all the information about the donation in detail. I would like to thank our professors in the Department of Anatomy for their support and wish the donation to be beneficial to the whole scientific community.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan, in her statement, drew attention to the fact that donations have increased in recent years due to awareness of cadaver donation. She pointed out that this development is promising for the medical world and stated, "Especially in recent times, cadaver donations have started to increase in Alanya. Thanks to the sensitivity of donors, they are making a great contribution to the medical world. We are glad to see an increase in cadaver donations in our country and particularly in Alanya."
