
MANY YOUNG TALENTS MEET WITH NEARLY 100 COMPANIES AT “CAREER SUMMIT VIII. EMPLOYMENT FAIR” AT ALANYA ALAADDIN KEYKUBAT UNIVERSITY (ALKU)
Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) continues to bring together sector representatives and students as part of university-industry collaborations. Within this scope, ALKU hosted the "Career Summit VIII. Employment Fair" in collaboration with Alanya University, the Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), and the Alanya Touristic Operators Association (ALTİD).The fair, held at the Life Center on ALKU Kestel Campus, was attended by ALKU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç and Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, ALTİD President Burhan Sili, Alanya İŞKUR Director Selami Harman, faculty deans, vocational school directors, academicians, students, and nearly 100 companies, especially from the tourism sector.
PROF. DR. MEHMET KILIÇ: “HAVE BOLD DREAMS”
ALKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç emphasized the great significance of the Career Summit and Employment Fair for ALKU in his speech. He also stated that ALKU makes great contributions to the tourism, health and sports sectors in the region. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç stated that the fair, which is organized annually, provides substantial support to the tourism sector. “As students walk around today, they may broaden their horizons. Some developments today will inspire you, and perhaps the meetings held here will lead you to have bold dreams. These discussions will contribute significantly to your professional careers in the future. This fair allows our students to determine what steps they need to take to achieve their dreams and create a career roadmap. At the end of the day, I want to tell the youth: I sincerely hope you will have bold dreams. I also extend my gratitude to the institutions and participating companies that made this fair possible,” he said.
ALTSO PRESIDENT ERDEM: “A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE”
Speaking at the programme, ALTSO President Eray Erdem wished the fair to be beneficial for the Alanya region. Reminding that it is a great opportunity for young talents to meet with the sectors on the occasion of fairs, President Eray Erdem said, “Especially in the tourism and service sectors, individuals who start working during their student years tend to be much more successful in their careers. When these students develop a true sense of belonging, success becomes inevitable. This fair presents a valuable opportunity for students who are confident and want to be part of the industry. On this occasion, I would like to once again thank our university for organizing this fair, the entire academic staff, and all the businesses that participated,”
PRESIDENT SILI: “OUR COLLABORATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP”
ALTİD President Burhan Sili emphasized the importance of public-private sector collaborations and stated that the fair held at ALKU is highly valuable for the Alanya region. He noted that the fair also helps address the need for qualified personnel.“We will continue to do our best to further develop this collaboration. Since Alanya’s economy is primarily based on tourism, everyone here is part of our community. Students who want to improve their profession and receive academic education will both work and reinforce their knowledge and experience on the way to becoming a manager. I hope this fair will be beneficial for all of us, for Alanya, and for the tourism sector,” he said.
MANAGER HARMAN “FAIRS BRING TOGETHER QUALIFIED STAFF”
Alanya İŞKUR Director Selami Harman pointed out that public-private sector meetings help minimize the problem of finding qualified employees.”Thanks to fairs held at our universities, industry representatives meet thousands of young people. We believe that as employers in the tourism sector increase wages, they will also solve personnel issues. I wish the participating students success in their future careers and thank everyone who contributed to organizing this fair,” he said.
STUDENTS AND SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES EXPRESSED THEIR SATISFACTION
Following the speeches, certificates of appreciation were presented to ALTSO President Eray Erdem, ALTİD President Burhan Sili, and Alanya İŞKUR Director Selami Harman for their support. Certificates of appreciation were also given to Lonicera Hotel, Ela Excellence Resort Belek Hotel, and TUİ Hotels for their partnership agreements with ALKU. Additionally, all participating businesses were awarded certificates of appreciation.
Afterward, the delegation toured the fair area, engaging with students and business representatives to exchange information about the event. Both students and companies expressed that the fair was highly beneficial and emphasized the importance of the meetings for both sides.
CONFERENCES HAVE BEEN ORGANISED
As part of the fair, information and experience-sharing sessions were organized for students.At the ALKU Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences Conference Hall, Career and Job Consultant Sebahattin Kayaalp delivered a training session on "Job Search Skills."In the Alev Alatlı Conference Hall, LLC Agency President Mehmet Lüleci shared his knowledge and experiences with students in a training session titled "Digital Marketing Strategies on Tripadvisor for Tourism Businesses. "The event concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation and a group photo session.
